Um, I'd be careful with calling oneself an Otaku... While it is certainly acceptable to some level in the US to acknowledge your geek pride or otherwise, it most definitely would be a bit of a bigger issue while in Japan.

Thanks for the information...but, ummm....I'm not in Japan. Oh, and I wasn't trying to offend anyone! Nothing bad was meant by it. Though if I ever happen to be in Japan I'll remember what you said ^ _ ^

Your not going to offend anyone by calling yourself an Otaku. Although, personally I would avoid making that association myself, but you are certainly free to do as you please.

I like Umineko no Naku Koro ni, Higurashi no Naku Koro ni, Kuroshitsuji, Spice and Wolf, and Code Geass in terms of anime, and Hayate no Gotoku and Higanbana no Saku Yoru ni for manga.

My favorite mangas are shoujo, slice-of-life, and comedy. Yotsuba&! is my favorite :3

I use Crunchyroll. It's a website that has Live action nihongo television and anime. subscriptions are pretty cheap. $7 a month for half (either anime or live action drama's at blue ray quality and no commercials) or $15 a month full. I watch so much of it that when i come here to study a bit, i find the conversions much slower then i am use to hearing them.
