can anybody recommend me a hotel in Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka please. I have booked a holiday to japan for 2 weeks starting september 1st. I would prefer a hotel that is very traditionally japanese. I dont mind, as long as its cheap because I want to go explore japan, not stay in a hotel!! arigato gozaimshta

Konnichiwa! If you're really up for a __VERY TRADITIONAL JAPANESE__ 8) experience, I recommend *TAITO RYOKAN* in Asakusa. It's rate is 3000 yen a night, which is super-cheap for the location (right in downtown Tokyo). With such a cheap rate...you won't get the hotel-like service. BUT, it's definitely an experience living in an old wooden Japanese house, with tatami mats, futons, and of course the Japanese-style OFURO "bath". Now, as for KYOTO... It's FULL of traditional ryokan's (Japanese style hotels). But here's one you may want to check out: *HOTEL NISHIYAMA* The cost starts at 7000 yen, that's just for sleeping.. if you want meals, then there's additional charge. Lastly a suggestion for OSAKA: *NANTENEN *- is a guesthouse that's been operating for more than 70 years. A bit pricey, but is within a beautiful garden! :D
