Tiny errors

コッドMon, 17 Jan 2011 18:25:03 -0600
There are some flaws is lesson 3.9.
1) In the language section, at the ichidan(1 dan) verbs the TE-form and MASU-form are mixed up.
2) In the writing section, at "Kanji of the day", the kanji characters aren't displayed.

I'm currently using firefox 3.6 and I've never had such problems before. The characters at the other lessons are displayed correctly.
コッドThu, 10 Feb 2011 18:08:36 -0600
A new problem has appeared : Though I have the words saved in "My Vocab", the words don't show up underlined in the written dialogs. They appears underlined and am able to see the meaning and edit them only at the the time I attend the lesson, but if I log out and reenter the respective lesson, the word's won't show up !

I would be grateful if the problem would be fixed
Pascal PThu, 10 Feb 2011 22:06:54 -0600
Yeah, though the My Vocab feature is great, its consistency is less than desirable. I've noticed some things, like words not being retained after a logout, and sometime adding a word and it won't become underlined.

In addition, since some words are found in others, eg. "nichi" in konnichiwa, if I add nichi to my vocab, then it appears as underlined in the word "konnichi", and as a result I am unable to add "konnichiwa" to my vocab.

It's still a great course though
コッドThu, 14 Jul 2011 20:41:31 -0500
heh, found another one . In lesson 9.3, in the quiz, the irasshai is written wrongly as: irrashai in all 4 forms of it...
Pascal PThu, 14 Jul 2011 23:08:37 -0500
@コッド

Yep. Confirmed. It's a shame...trivial mistakes like that make me realize that this product was made by humans and not gods

I just started the last part (section 15) of the Premium Plus course. I can't wait to start Platinum.
コッドFri, 15 Jul 2011 13:27:58 -0500
thanks for the confirmation !

Anyway, the main scope of this topic was, and still is, to point out any mistakes in order for the staff to correct them. So, if anybody finds something suspicious or wrong, feel free to write it here.
Peter S2Fri, 15 Jul 2011 14:39:59 -0500
In the Sushi quiz, Ganbatte is spelt Gambatte. hdrh.
コッドFri, 15 Jul 2011 15:02:40 -0500
Peter-san, that one is actually correct .
It is written as: がんばって and here, the ん can also be spelled as "m" as it is easier to say gambatte instead of ganbatte.

Conclusion: ん = n/m

note for Pascal-san: Please sign in the messenger when you can. I want to talk to you about something

I would just like to say I have also found a typo on lesson 1.4 Survival Phrases. Sayaka says in her first sentence Nihongo ga, but it is written Nihongo O in Romaji. Just an FYI. I assume the spoken part is correct and the Romaji is a typo.

Found another tiny mistake.
in Lesson 10.4 "Getting a bike"
Yoshiko saids in the audio "soreto" while in both romanji and hiragana it is "ato"
コッドSun, 16 Oct 2011 17:47:59 -0500
and yet another one: in lesson 10.2, in the last question asked by Yoshiko-san, she says: dochira NO HOUGA yasui-n deshou ka ?, while in hiragana it's written: dochira GA yasui-n deshou ka ?

After going through the culture&writing lessons, I found out that the one in the spoken dialogue is correct (with "no houga").
Jonathan Wed, 19 Oct 2011 21:52:11 -0500
I got another one here: in lesson 12.3. Yoshiko saids okoranai (to not become mad) but the hiragana it is spelled as okaranai with ka instead of ko.

I found two bugs on the forum since the new skin was introduced. I'm not sure if the first one is really a bug or is it just a feature that went missing. I've also sent an email to the support tech team in which I explained these following problems/inconveniences:

1.) The forum navigation bar. When I usually clicked a topic in the forum, there was this small navigation bar which showed the forum, section and topic in which I was and usually allowed me to click one of those in order to navigate withing the forum.
For example: I click the topic named Kanji and the bar showed: community > Japanese Vocab > Kanji. There I could click for example the "Japanese Vocab" and it would take me within the forum group where all the topics related to that were posted.
The problem is that the bar no longer appears there, which is quite inconvenient

2.) I can't edit my posts. When I click the edit button, the edit mode gets enabled, but the box is grey (as in being disabled) and I can't modify or write anything in it.

@コッド both those should be fixed now.
コッドFri, 02 Dec 2011 10:22:24 -0600
Thank you. They're working now and all is fine
hilarie mFri, 09 Dec 2011 15:59:56 -0600
Anyone having problems with the audio part on "MY Level"? The new feature that was recently added. Can't hear it. Everything else I can, except for all of audios for "My Level" .
コッドSat, 10 Dec 2011 04:45:58 -0600
I had it only at first. I don't remember exactly what settings I changed for firefox and my internet connection, but after about an hour of trial and error it started working for me. Now everything is fine with my level...
Try updating to the latest versions of java, flashplayer and .net framework if you're using windows.

hello again. This time it's not quite of an error, but more like a suggestion.
At the writing lesson (first one for the stage 2 RJP premium), where we learn the character for woman, there are two ON-yomi written:
ジョ - JO -> knew about it
ニョ - NYO -> first time I've seen it, not sure about it.

But there is also a third one which is not written: メ - ME -> example: 女神 - MEGAMI = Goddess. it would be nice to add this one too.
Thank you

I've just fished a big one. At lesson 12.3 "Wedding Day", the last phrase that Tarou-san has in the conversation is swapped between romaji and kana. At the romaji section it's written with kana, while the kana section has it written in romaji.
bruce aldridgeFri, 30 Dec 2011 14:54:05 -0600
@コッド Good spotting, I've just swapped those around
コッドSat, 31 Dec 2011 04:45:34 -0600
thank you
Jonathan Thu, 12 Jan 2012 16:27:17 -0600
Another tiny mistake spotted here.
in lesson 17.3 Breaking the ice second rie phrase.
In the audio it is said as "Yoshiko-san kara Taro-san no ohanashi o iroiro"
In the meantime in all 3 texts there stands "Yoshiko-san kara iroiro to Taro-san no ohanashi o"

I am quite distressed with the early hirigana lessons which are not in the right order. It is very confusing. It tells me that I have finished learning hiragana after 6 lessons, and I know there are still hiragana which I haven't learned. They come up later. In the 2nd lesson it tells me I have already learned 15 hiragana, and I know I've only learned 5. They should be in the correct order so that it makes sense to the new learner.
エリックFri, 20 Jan 2012 19:01:04 -0600
In the quiz for Lesson 4.9, I think there's an error in the following question:

"All of the following pairs of western calendar year and Japanese era are correct EXCEPT:

1993 - Heisei 4
2009 - Heisei 21
1999 - Heisei 11
1988 - Heisei 2 - ( 1988 was the 63rd year of the Showa era: Showa 63 )"

In the first option, shouldn't it read:
"1993 - Heisei 5" ?
コッドMon, 06 Feb 2012 10:19:28 -0600
found an interesting forum bug hehe. At the Japanese Vocab section of the forum, page 2, the topic with the name: 明細は何と言う意味ですか?

When I click it, it sends me back to the first page of the Forum section instead of opening the thread...
