ko so a do words

Jebrown256Tue, 31 Aug 2010 04:36:42 -0500
I'm learning my location words now i'm confused on how to use them like:

someone ask me wheres the remote (remote wa doko desu ka) i say its near me which i think is *(kore desu)

since its an object but im saying (this remote)* which doesnt make sense i should say "here" which is

"koko",but is used for places and the remote is not a place.

Do i use the "ko" ending words for describing an object place or "re" ending words for objects no matter what?

Jebrown

(It 's over there.)

(It 's there.)

(It 's here.)

(It 's here. There is it.)

Hope this help.

I 'm sorry that I can't explain in English.

Kien.

JeBrown-san,

Translation is as follows:

I will answer the questions regarding "Where is the remote?"

(Asoko desu)
(Asoko ni arimasu)
(It 's over there.)
→The remote is far away (unreachable distance) from the person who has asked the questions, and who is answering the question.

(Soko desu)
(Soko ni arimasu)
(It 's there.)
→The remote is close to the person asking the question but far away (unreachable distance, but visual distance) from the person answering the question.

(Koko desu)
(Koko ni arimasu)
(It 's here.)
→The remote is close to both the person asking and answering the question.

Think about it this way. If the remote is close to you (reachable distance) to you - what would you do? You would pick up the remote and show it/pass it to the person asking the question "Where is the remote?"

In this case, you would say:
(Kore desu)
(It 's here. This is it.)
