I noticed that in lesson 1.3 this sentence "Konya o sushi o tabe ni ikimashou ka?" There's 2 'O's here and which does it belongs to? Konya o? or o sushi? o tabe? confused me a little. When do we need to put this 'o' in a sentence? Thanks anyone who can help.

Hi there, I apologize for the confusion. The "o" belongs to "sushi". It is a refinement "o". We put "o" before some nouns to make our speech more refined. O sushi or sushi O hashi or hashi But please note that we don't put "o" before ALL the nouns to make it refined. So the sentence should be "Konya o sushi tabe ni ikimashou ka". This "o" is not the object particle "o". This "o" is placed before some nouns for more refined speech. Common nouns that you may hear often are: O sushi O hashi O mise O cha And so on. It is confusing when written in romaji but it is not confusing at all when written in Japanese script as the refinement "o" is written as お but the object particle is written as を. The object particle can be inserted after "o sushi" in this sentence but the object particles are often omitted in casual daily conversation.
