i was watching a japanese drama online, and it said that males use 'ore' instead of 'watashi'. i was hoping to have my japanese suite my gender (as a male). so i was wondering, what other common phrases are used by males, and not females? or is it just slang that you have to pick up as your process of learning japanese?...

Konnichiwa Seedle-san! _WATASHI_ - is used for both "I" and "me" by Japanese of both sexes. _BOKU_ and _ORE_ - meaning "I" or "me" are for male speakers only - but keep in mind that both are less formal than _WATASHI_, and _ORE_ has a rather rough feeling (best to use it only amongst family and close friends.) When addressing someone else - that is, saying "you" ... KIMI is often used generally by males - when addressing equals or someone below you. It's an informal "you". OMAE - is the second person "you" of ORE - so, it's very informal and has a rough feeling. - Sayaka :P
