when you pronounce iru after a te verb is the i silent?
I heard a something kinda like this.
nomitagatte iru n desu ga.
and the iru and n just sounded kinda like "ru-n"
So is it kinda like desu where the u is silent and imasu where the i is silent.

You will often hear the sound N in Japanese conversations, such as in
*Nomigatte iru-n desu ga.*
The *iru-n desu* is a shortened, contracted version of *iru no desu * where the NO changes to the N-sound. Remember, this is strictly colloquial. This N-sound is mostly used by children and young persons.
Other examples are:
*Taberu no desu* ---- *Taberu-N desu* --- _"I eat"_
*Nomu no desu* ----- *Nomu-N desu* ---- _"I drink"_
*Hoshii no desu* ---- *Hoshii-N desu* --- _"I want"_
