At fast food restaurantes meals are numbered so if you go to a fast food place in Japan and want to order a meal how do you say number 1 please or Number 2 etc... Would this be correct or am I way off??? *ichigo ga hoshii desu onegaishimasu ( I want number one. Please. ) (or this) ichigo ga hoshii n desu ga (or are the both completley wrong?)* Also how do you say things like ketchup only or no onions things like this could help me out alot? Would it be something simple like the following. I am trying my best to figure out the word order. *kechappu ga tanze onegaishimasu ( ketchup only please ) iie, onion o kudasai (no onion please )* Thanks for your time. Brian

Konnichiwa Brian-san! You're at a fast food restaurant...and want to order _Number 1 please!_: *Ichi-ban o onegaishimasu!* _Number 2 please!_: *Ni-ban o onegaishimasu!* _Number 3 please!_: *San-ban o onegaishimasu!* ~BAN is the counter for "number" so you only need to add the number + ~BAN and you get Number 1, Number 2, Number 3...and so on. Let's say you're in MacDonalds, that's MAKKU in Japanese, and you want to order the BIG MAC MEAL. This is quite easy to order in Japanese: "A Big Mac Meal please" *Biggu Makku Setto o onegaishimasu.* "A Happy Meal please" *Happee Setto o onegaishimasu.* they often say "Set" instead of "Meal" Now, about ingredients or sauces: _"Ketchup only please_" *Kecchappu dake onegaishimasu.* **DAKE translates as "ONLY"** So, here are other examples: _"BBQ sauce only please"_ *Baabekyuu soosu dake onegaishimasu.* _"No onion please"_ *Onion (tamanegi) nashi de onegaishimasu.* OR *Onoin (tamanegi) wa irenaide kudasai.* _"No cheese please"_ *Cheezu nashi de onagaishimasu.* _"No pickles please"_ *Pikurusu nashi de onagaishimasu.*

Brian-san, Konnichiwa! Don't worry, no Japanese person would think you're a baka...they'll simple try to figure out what you're asking. And, what's more, you'll find that many restaurants have either images of the dishes they offer, or even the plastic made (which look real!) plates and you can simply point to it! So, don't worry. You'll be able to ask what you want! Gambare! :D

Ok great I think I got it please tell me if I got this right. "I would like a number four with only extra ketchup please." I hope I got this one right! *"Yonban to takusan kechapuu dake onigashimasu."* Yonban = number 4 to = with takusan = alot kechapuu = ketchup dake = only onigashimasu = please If I said the above would it be understood or did I misplace the wording again? Thanks so much for your time. Brian

"I would like a number four with only extra ketchup please." Similar to your version: Yonban DE kechapu dake takusan onegaishimasu. will certainly be understood. Another way to say it is: Yonban o onegaishimasu. Kechapu dake takusan kudasai. This way, it's clear you're ordering #4 and you ONLY want lots of ketchup. :D Gambare~

"I would like a large/medium/small fries with that." Would you just use Okii for large and chisai for small what about medium? Thanks for all your help. Brian
