Printable's to help with Kanji?

I know this is a weird question, but I suppose it never hurts to ask. I'm just getting started with the Rocket program and I was wondering if there are any printable sheets of the vocabulary words in Konji to help with writing them? I hope that makes sense. Ok for example, I took a semester of Chinese at my college a few years back and we had booklets that were filled with the Chinese characters that we'd be learning that semester. It was like the kind you'd get when you're in kindergarden that would have the letter, or in this case character, situated between the lines and next to it you'd have to draw it yourself. You know that kinda thing. Do we have anything like that available for us to print here? I just know it helped me much more in my Chinese class being able to see and draw it together on paper. :) If not, thats fine, just wanted to ask. Thanks.

Hi Cassie, Thanks for your post. Unfortunately we don't have any worksheets that you can print out, but I did a quick search online and found the following sites that you might find helpful: http://japanese-lesson.com/characters/kanji/kanji_writing.html http://nihongoichibandotcom.files.wordpress.com/2012/09/kanjibookjlptn5.pdf I haven't tested either of these sites, but hopefully they'll be useful for you. All the best!

Thank you so much! I have to get to my laptop to mess around with the first link a little more, but the second one is perfect and exactly want I was looking for. Thank you for taking the time to find these for me. It is much appreciated. :)

If you have a smartphone or tablet, there are a number of good free apps out there for both iOS and Android that let you practice drawing kanji right on the screen. Use a stylus instead of your finger for better results!

Another option, if you use Google Chrome as your browser, is to use their "input tools". One of the input tools is "draw" where you can draw the Kanji character and it will present choices based on what you drew. Then, you can use that when doing "write it in Kanji".

These are very cool.  I can use them to practice as well.  Thanks.

Another useful resource for PDF Kanji Worksheets (follows Genki and Genki II up to Lesson 23)

This site allows you to select individual kanji which are grouped by JLPT level. You can also toggle on stroke order if you like:

That's very interesting that one. Not sure if they have enough for JLPT N5 though listed. N4 looks about right though. I am thinking of starting my own methods of studying Kanji by grade order from Japanese schools and perfecting them by writing over and again with selected ones each day and targeting a school grade per month or two month period.

For years I thought N5 required knowledge of somewhere between 200-400 kanji but recent charts put the number closer to 100. However that's not counting compounds.

I would definitely err on the larger number. From doing the test there were all the numbers, directions, north south..., family and a few other basics and that number adds up quickly.
