Does anyone know how to tell someone "you are very kind" , or "generous"?
i found the word shinsetsu, but i was told it means "friendly", and i'm not sure it has the same connotation as the English "kind" or "generous".

If you are wanting to say "You are kind" as a "Thank you" for a generous
gesture toward you, then you can say:
Go shinsetsu ni doo mo arigatoo gozaimasu.
Literally "Thank you for your kindness."
If you are wanting to say "You are kind" just as an observation of this
person's personality, then you can say:
** san wa shinsetsu na hito desu ne.
Just put this person's name in **.
Literally "You are a kind person, aren't you."
The word "shinsetsu" generally means "kind," referring to someone who helps
out others. But it can also mean "friendly" in some context.
