I hear alot of japanese programs where people say "so des ne". I am under teh asumption that this means "thats right". Can anyone confirm this for me?

Hi there, "That's right" is more " Soo desu". "soo desu ne" is often translated to "Let me see". For example in a restaurant: A:「 なに　に　しましょう　か。」 Nani ni shimashou ka. ('What shall we have?') B:「そうですね・・・。おすし　は　どうですか。」 Soo desu ne... Osushi wa doo desu ka. ('Let me see...　How about sushi?') In the tone of questions (tone rise up at the end), "soo desu ne" can also mean "Is it correct? / Right?" A waiter:　「ご　ちゅうもん　は？」　go chuumon wa? ('May I ask the order?') Mr A:　「わたし　は　おすしに　します。　Bさん　は　てんぷら　です。　そうで すね、　Bさん。」 Watashi wa osushi ni shimasu. B-san wa tenpura desu. Soo desu ne, B-san. ( 'I will have a sushi. Mr. B will have tempura. Is it correct, Mr-B?')
