Wouldn’t “Hola a todos” be better followed with “Hoy van/vais a aprender …”?

Suggested: “No, I didn't leave the book in the library.{{ I brought/carried it }} home.”
(Carmen is already at home. She would not say, “I left it at home”. Besides, that not what the sentence says, and it's not what Carmen means)

Trans. given: “Yes, but they don't use it in South America.”
Suggested: “Yes, but we don’t use it in South America.”
