I would like suggestions for beginner level books in Spanish. Very, very beginner level books. Something like what a kindergartener or first grader might encounter while learning to read in Spanish. Gracias!

Hola Laura, A few years back when I first started to learn Spanish my wife worked as a rental agent at an apartment complex that had mostly Hispanic tenants. She brought home an unclaimed book from the mail titled :" Ana cultiva manzanas" by Monica Wellington, from Dutton children's books. It is very basic with English translations. Perhaps you can find it in your local library. Reading in Spanish is a great idea. As you progress, though more advanced, I recommend " Una Sorpresa para Josefina" and "Easy Spanish Reader", to name a couple of other books. Not long ago with a dictionary at hand, I read "Around the World in 80 Days" in Spanish. Keep at it Laura y buena suerte. Saludos, Rich
