"Como" is more similar to "how" than to "what"...."¿Como se llama la banda?"..."How is the band called"...."¿Como puedo llegar al hotel?"..."How can i get to the hotel"...
"Que" means what, as in "Que tipo de musica te gusta"..."What type of music do you like"..."¿Que sucedió aqui?"..."What happened in here?"
