In lesson 2.6, the sentence used is "Voy a escribirlo en la manana." I can't find the word "escribirlo" in any of the 14 tenses in my verb book. It isn't referred to anywhere in the Beginners Spanish Book either. Would you please explain the 'lo' ending? Thanks for your help.

Hola Judith. The verb is escribir - to write. Often when there are direct or indirect objects to which an infinitive refers, they are stuck on at the end of the infinitive. That's what's happening in the sentence you've asked about. It means "We are going to write it in the morning." "It" ("lo") is a direct object, and it has been placed at the end of the infinitive "escribir." If I wanted to say "I write it now," I wouldn't put the "lo" at the end of the verb, but rather before it: "Lo escribo ahora" ("escribo" is not an infinitive). But if I say "I'm going to write it now," I can stick the "lo" at the end of the infinitive: "Voy a escribirlo ahora." I hope this helps.

Thank-you for your timely response. Yes, this does help - another peice of the puzzle. I'm (hoping) and looking forward to more lessons on that in the future. For now, however, would there be another way of saying the same thing - ie. "I am going to write it in the morning" ? Thanks again.

I think you could also say "Lo voy a escribir por (or en) la mañana." You could probably also use the future tense: "Lo escribiré por/en la mañana" - I will write it in the morning.
