In this lesson there is reference to pelo (hair) color but it occassionally sounds as thought it is being pronounced "peli" or "pely". Is this correct or am I simply not hearing it correctly?

Hola,
*"Pelo"* is the word for _"hair"_ in Spanish.
In one occasion, however,*"pelo"* becomes *"peli"* - this is when you want to say _"red-hair"_ - the Spanish word is: *"pelirojo"* for males, or *"peliroja"* for females.
