I watch Mexican soaps and often have questions about words. Onda was one, I see you answered that one, thanks. How about infeliz, my dictionary says it means "poor wretch", but it is used to describe people who have done something against someone elce. I would guess that it means something like unfaithful, but that doesn't seem quite right. Can you give me an English equivilent?

Specifically Mexican: trifling, insignificant. But also: unhappy, unfortunate, kind-hearted, good-natured. As a noun: wretch, poor devil or simpleton. All depending on context.

Hi, "Infeliz". This word really brings back some memories. I never used it a lot as a child, but I clearly remember my father yelling out the window while driving "INFELIZ" to someone who had just cut him off!, or was going too slow or you name it... Typically used to name someone who has done something against you, which has made you unhappy. A person who is an “Infeliz” is a person who loves or simply does bad things to other people to make them unhappy. I can see how it would be used a lot on Mexican soaps.. lol That's my understanding of the word anyway. Mauricio.
