in the first free audio lesson I learned that that the word 'estas' means- are you, and then I learned in the third free lesson that the word 'eres' means- are you, if both words have the same meaning how do I know when to use each one? how come you don't mention it? thank you, Tehila ------------------------

In Spanish, the verb "to be" is actually covered by TWO verbs... the verb _ser_ which is used to denote permanent conditions (gender, nationality, etc.) and the verb _estar_ which is used to denote temporary conditions (health, location, etc). Both are covered well in the Rocket Spanish course, I believe it's in the Beginner Book Grammar section. I've been enjoying the course immensely, and use it in conjunction with Learning Spanish Like Crazy. I would highly recommend this course as a starting point in your Spanish-learning experience. There's a ton of great resources that come with the course.
