Pour Marie Claire, I am still in the early stages of learning French, I do enjoy it and make time every day for study . However, I also listen to Radio France International from Paris and I wonder am I taking on too much. The announcers and guests speak so rapidly, I catch a few phrases and words but I am interested in learning how the flow of the language moves, I noticed the announcers or French speakers use a lot of Ummm, aaaa, etc, to fill in before they speak. What is your advice on listening to French Radio. Am I trying too hard? Thanks for your reply or from any other persons studying the Rocket French course. Gary Wages

Salut Eric ! Don't worry if you don't understand all what you listen on the Radio France International. If you are in the early stages of learning French, it's definitely normal. But it's a very good way to get used to the sounds and the flow of the language. I'll recommend to keep going with it and eventually you could start to read some books. This will help you to improve your vocabulary too. I hope it helps. All the best for your French learning !
