Bonjour,

J'imagine que "prenant" en anglais, c'est demanding, serious, time-consuming... pas exciting.
Est-ce que l'expresson de traduction avait fait une erreur?

J’ai l’impression que «c’est prenant» est plus neutre que ça, en effet. C’est l’idée de quelque chose qui prend du temps pour le faire, tout simplement. Alors, c’est le contexte qui exprime si c’était du temps bien consacré ou perdu.

Ah d'accord ! C'est le gérondif (-ing) de « prendre » . La phrase dit effectivement: "It's taking".  {i.e. It's neither good or bad, it's just "taking" (my time), either because it's engrossing and I lose track of time, or because it takes a long time to do and I don't have time to do anything else.}

You are correct! However, as well as the meaning 'time-consuming', it can also have the meaning 'captivating' or 'exciting', in the sense that it takes you and holds your interest.
