Ich denke, dass die Jungs noch Fußball schauen

RexV

I understand this sentence means “I think the boys are still watching soccer”.
When should you use “schauen” instead of “sehen”.

Hallo RexV,

The difference between these verbs is similar to the difference between their English counterparts: schauen means "to watch" while sehen means "to see."

(As we have seen in a previous thread, however, they can both be used to mean "look" - as in, "Look over there!" https://members.rocketlanguages.com/members/forum/german-vocab/schau-mal-guch-mal-sieh-mal)

Bis bald,

Liss
