I am just going through Rocket Italian Premium Plus Lesson 8.8 Verbs + Prepositions.
One common verb posted is
cercare di and the translation beside it is "to try to" Is this correct? I thought 'cercare" was to look"
Two examples later the lesson offers tentare di with same translation to try to"
Can some one clarify for me?
Cercare di ??

Ciao Bob,
yes, it's correct:
the verb "cercare di " can be translated as "to try to".
The verb "cercare" means "to look for" or "to search".
"Cercare di" and "tentare di" (to attempt) are interchangeable.
I hope this helps
Ciao
