I am just going through Rocket Italian Premium Plus Lesson 8.8 Verbs + Prepositions. One common verb posted is cercare di and the translation beside it is "to try to" Is this correct? I thought 'cercare" was to look" Two examples later the lesson offers tentare di with same translation to try to" Can some one clarify for me?

Ciao Bob, yes, it's correct: the verb "cercare di " can be translated as "to try to". The verb "cercare" means "to look for" or "to search". "Cercare di" and "tentare di" (to attempt) are interchangeable. I hope this helps Ciao
