De onde é o Eduardo?

atomic-fer

Hi I don't understand why does the article o appears in this case. Why can't I just say: De onde é Eduardo? What is the meaning of o in the first sentence? Obrigado

Tereza-P

Hi Atom The use of the definite article before people's names is optional, so you can say: "De onde é Eduardo" or "De onde é o Eduardo" Hope this helps:) Até logo, Tereza.
