It's super easy to use. I want to be a professional gamer in the future. Korea is currently the most competitive country so being able to discuss strategy with Koreans is super important to staying ahead of the competition. Lessons are short enough to do anytime and reviewing what you already know is convenient too.
This is the finest, easiest to follow Korean language learning class I have used. Since I am already very familiar with Korean, I simply listen to the dialogue repeatedly (50-75 times per) and its amazing how much rhetoric I am able to memorize. It in essence has helped me to understand how the complex sentence structure of Korean is enabled.
The web site is complicated and not very user friendly. I've spent 5 min trying to figure out how do I start the lessons and where to begin the studying. It's stupid to spend so much effort on a web site to have people leave confused. Too complicated to begin with.
Response from Rocket Languages
Response from Rocket Languages: Hi Milla - There is a take a tour video on the Get Started page! Also, we are revamping the lesson interface to make it easier to understand. It is a little difficult when some courses have over 100 lessons!
Really enjoying the lessons so far. The revision lessons at the end are great to reinforce what I have just learned. Using the microphone is so helpful too.
Hopefully my Korean skills are improving
I highly recommend this to non-native speakers because it provides vocabs and lots of quizzes/tests to work on your skills. It is a good beneficial recourse tool to help out with learning a new language. It is great for beginners who have no knowledge of the language and the app comes in handy for those who are on the go.
This is an amazing website! Rocket Korean is absolutely awesome! I've tried many things to help me learn Korean, and this is easily one of the best resources I've found so far,. I'm honestly so glad I found it when I did - it's helping me to work towards my future plans and goals make them seem so much more realistic.
I've enjoyed learning Spanish with Rocket Languages, but delving into Korean proved to be unexpected challenging. Any Korean teaching material that starts from the beginner level should include lessons on Hangul, but that's lacking in Rocket Language Korean. Fine, I taught myself Hangul using other sources. Not being familiar with Asian languages in general, Korean was much harder for me to pronounce and speak quickly. The speaking exercises are way too demanding in terms of accuracy of pronunciation and the speed at which you have to respond and often my responses get truncated halfway because I'm trying to remember the exact wording. From the very first introductory lesson, there are a lot of more complicated phrases and vocab that get thrown in which are tested, and almost impossible for a beginner to get right. It's been a frustrating experience all around. I guess I'll stick to Romance languages, and use other materials to learn Korean.
Response from Rocket Languages
Response from Rocket Languages: Hi Mengsha - We took your feedback onboard and now the very first Language and Culture lesson is indeed on Hanguel and Korean pronunciation in general.
The overall experience is really great! My only concern or issue is the trainor talks VERY fats and it never hurts to talk slower so I reccommend you guys get on that or people may stop buying it out of frustration. But, that is the only thing I have found that is difficult about this training.
I really like the format of this course; it is conversational and has a ton of practice. I love that you can record yourself and compare it to native speakers. The fact that the program assigns points for my work, keeps record of how many points I gained each day, and that I am able to see other students' scores, keeps me motivated.
Definitely helpful to hear native Koreans speaking and the forms of testing made sure that i remember what i learned in the lesson. I would recommend this site to anyone who wants to practice their pronunciation. The site is very organized and easy to navigate. The tools are very useful. All in all, this is a good site.
