As with any language, immersion and conversation will get you the farthest, but Rocket Spanish does a good job at giving you a wide range of vocabulary and practice with the spoken language. The reinforcement tools can seem tedious at times, but repetition and commitment is vital to learning a new language. Get it on sale and it is totally worth your time and energy.
Hello, I am an English teacher but can speak 4 other foreign languages and started learning Japanese a few years ago. I studied it with Teach yourself Japanese, Japanese for Busy People and Take off in Japanese. Then I tried Rocket Japanese and I can say Rocket Japanese is the best programme I have ever seen. Not only is it very creative but very practical and applicable, too. Modern tools and features make it even more interesting, in particular for youngsters! Sayaka as our guide is excellent as well as Mauricio and Amy for Spanish. What I like most about Rocket Languages is that there is always a dash, a touch of culture and customs as well as nuances in different countries (for Spanish). I have already recommended Rocket Languages to several friends of mine. Last but not least, I wish all the teams of Rocket Languages success in the future work-I am sure you will grant us with some new, interesting improvements!

Overall, I'm very satisisfied with the product and approach so far, particularly coming from 7 months of Duolingo. It is a significant upgrade in experience over Duolingo. It has the right balance of drill and practice and grammar fundamentals, in the context of a conversation-driven leaning style. It seems natural and well thought out. I truly appreciate that I can skip what I want in deference to things I already know. I know I will soon get to things I will not be able to skim or skip and I look forward to that. The "say it" element of the structure is excellent. It is forcing me to speak, which is exactly what Duolingo does not do well. I have lots of words and lots of conjugations, but on the spot I am like a deer in the headlights, and Rocket's style forces you to just "talk", mistakes and all, which is great. The speed and clarity of the voice actors is excellent and it makes listening easy and approachable. The rolling text approach on screen is great, as I can look at the scroll when I want to and look away (to test myself better) when I don't want to.
A couple of constructive things to say.

Response from Rocket Languages
Hi Paul, thank you for leaving such an in-depth review of our Rocket Spanish course. At Rocket Languages, we strongly believe in the effectiveness of interactive learning strategies that encourage students to actively use the language they are learning. So, it's great to hear that you have enjoyed using our speech recognition feature in activities that promote the use of Spanish. We truly appreciate your feedback on how we could improve the course. Your comments have been passed on to our Product Development team, who will consider them as they work on updating the course. We wish you all the best with your ongoing Spanish language-learning journey!
Its a fine course. Its easy and gets you working on it each day. Nevertheless, the whole program is not that advanced. I was looking for something that can take me from B1 to C or so.
I've been using Rocket Italian since December 2019. I purchased Levels 1, 2, & 3-Instant Lifetime Access and the Travelogue. (Yes, I am committed to learn Italian.) I am on Unit I- module 6. In addition to Rocket, I use 2 other Apps/programs along with Rocket Italian. After 3/12 months of use, I feel I can write an accurate review.
Pros
1. I love the structured lessons
2. Like having the audios of Alex and Maria (audio lessons and reviews)
3. Like having the ability to record myself and mimic pronunciation
Cons (or possible areas to improve)
1. I wish there was a way to manipulate and build sentences rather than solely memorizing. (Maybe this happens in later units, I don't know.)
2. I wish that in lessons, such as in Language and Culture, where they may be over 90 terms to learn, that the lesson be divided in smaller lessons. Memorizing close to 100 terms is overwhelming and a big challenge. Maybe limiting the terms to a more manageable number would be beneficial to the learner.
3. I wish there was a method to answer questions on a lesson directly on the lesson page itself rather than on the forum. Also, I would appreciate if someone from Rocket could answer those questions rather than relying mostly other learners.

Thanks for the detailed review Laura! I thought that I would comment on the cons;
1. Play it! is the best tool for this at the moment. We are looking into other tools to achieve this.
2. Rocket Italian is due for a total review later this year. At that stage the amount of phrases per lesson will be addressed. We know it's an issue and have been working at how to make it less of a slog yet maintain the comprehensiveness.
3. Great idea. I will look into this.
4. We used to have this as an extra paid feature but it was difficult to manage as it requires a lot more human resources to be able to do it.
I have been using Rocket German for a while. It's very helpful for beginner who doesn't have previous German knowledge before, since Rocket German break the conversation and the grammar in a small step that is easier to understand. The host encourage us to practice the conversation ourselves a lot which is great in learning language since it's a language if we learn how to speak it.
Will be best if Rocket German can add more materials in future such as, interview topic and more other formal usage in workplace with colleague/superior and other more serious topics like economy. Recommend Rocket German to people who'd like to learn new language.
The combination of the online tools and the ability to listen to the lessons whilst doing other things provides a really powerful learning combination. I particularly value the ability to watch and listen to my own attempts and compare them with a good French speaker!
I love the course. However, during this pandemic I can't afford it.
The real life situations make learning fun! It would make everyday situations easy to comprehend. The interactive audio makes it easy to grasp the meaning of words and sentences. The audio playback is good for review. Building on the sentences a phrase at a time makes it all come together. Hopefully when presented with questions in real life, this will be helpful to use all the words and phrases I've learned.
