How are you in Hindi

If someone asks "How are you?" in Hindi, how do you reply? And how do you ask them in return? hameśā kī taraha ।
As always.
थोड़ा थका हुआ (हूँ)/ /थकी हुई (हूँ) ।
thoḍa़ā thakā huā (hūn)/ /thakī huī (hūn) ।
A little tired.
मैं बीमार हूँ ।
maiṃ bīmāra hūn ।
I'm sick.
ठीक ठाक!
ṭhīka ṭhāka!
So-so.
बुरा तो नहीं / ठीक
burā to nahīṃ / ṭhīka
Not bad.
बुरा हूँ ।
burā hūn ।
Bad.
सब ठीक।
saba ṭhīka।
All good.
A common follow-up question is, “And you?” “aur aap?” or more informal “aur thum?”
और आप ?
aura āpa ?
And you? (formal)
और तुम ?
aura tuma ?
And you?
How are you feeling in Hindi
If someone tells you that he or she is not feeling well you could say the following…
मुझे अफसोस है ।
mujhe aphasosa hai ।
I'm sorry.

The above words are extremely important. From experience, I know that the most important phrase in any language is how to say you’re sorry!

Others disagree. They say that there are TWO important phrases that you absolutely must know in any language. They are:

माफ कीजिए
māpha kījie
I'm sorry (to beg pardon)
मुझे मदद चाहिए ।
mujhe madada cāhie ।
I need help
