Talking About the Weather in Korean

As Korea experiences extremes in weather patterns, this matter is generally on people’s minds. 너무 추워요 (Neomu chuwoyo) "it's very cold" or 너무 더워요 (neomu deowoyo) "it's very hot" are some handy conversation starters that you should memorize—just don’t get them confused!

Is it going to rain, snow or hail? Will the sun shine all day? Will it be a great day for going to the beach or shall we go to the art gallery instead? You might like to know what the weather is doing before making any plans. You can find out about the weather by asking one of the following questions:
날씨가 어때요?
Nalssi ga eottaeyo?
How is the weather?
내일 날씨가 어떨가요?

What will the weather be like tomorrow?
There are a lot of possible answers to that question. Here are the most common ones:

You can use the word 너무 (neomu) "very" for all of the above phrases to emphasize that it’s not just cold or warm, but very cold or very warm. For example:
너무 추워요.

It's very warm.
너무 더워요.
Neomu deowoyo.
It's very hot.
너무 바람 불어요.

When talking about rain you can use the following expressions.

It's rainy.
