I could not get past the incredibly annoying woman with her fingernails-on-chalkboard voice. The squeaking, the overemphatic emoting, the inane chatter and the off-putting accent have driven me away from this program in the first 5 minutes.

The web site is complicated and not very user friendly. I've spent 5 min trying to figure out how do I start the lessons and where to begin the studying. It's stupid to spend so much effort on a web site to have people leave confused. Too complicated to begin with.

Response from Rocket Languages: Hi Milla - There is a take a tour video on the Get Started page! Also, we are revamping the lesson interface to make it easier to understand. It is a little difficult when some courses have over 100 lessons!
Your application is not running on Android phone. Whenever I activated microphone, program stops. I tried to run iPhone but it needs iOS 10 later. I can not run on iPhone.
I tried to open on Android phone using Google Chrome. But I can not see repeat button and score buttons.
I tried to run on Macbook using chrome. I can see all elements play, microphone, score and customer voice repeat button.
But I can not replay my voice so I can not compare voices. Sometimes if score is 100% can record and replay my voice. Sometimes it can not record and produce performance result.
Your performance is too poor. Your system must analyse word by word. Your system must show word differences and can offer tools to advise pronunciation alternatives. Also I must listen my voice. Your system must record my voice.

Response from Rocket Languages: Hi Omer - I am sorry to hear about the issues you are having. As phones change versions fairly quickly there can be issues with the apps working on older models. However, we try to cover off as many older versions as we can. I would recommend that you try Safari on your Macbook as we recently extended the voice recognition feature to work on that.
My partner has RocketFrench, which is great and which he enjoys. I am a language teacher, so I help reinforce.
Now, I just bought RocketGerman -with the same hopes of the French version- and lasted 4 minutes of intro and am SHOCKED: I want to learn German, so why is Nik being such a bitch to Paul, saying his German accent is not as sexy as a French accent?! Why is she saying "especially if your daily job does not require a lot of brain power". Not to mention her horrid voice with unbearable high pitch. How am I supposed to learn with a condescending teacher? No thank you!
I want to talk to someone from customer service.

Response from Rocket Languages: Hi Justine - Yes, we have had some comment about Niks voice/attitude and it seems to be rather polarizing. To that end we have re-recorded Level 1 of Rocket German (Update: release date will be end of June 2020)
I just started and I don't really really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, like its not amazing but I like it
I decided not to pursue learning French after paying for the course the week after I purchased it as I wanted to change to the Italian course instead. I asked for a refund twice through the help section and have still not received a refund or acknowledgment that I have asked for a refund. This is a real shame as I was going to purchase the Italian course once I got the refund now I don't trust Rocket Languges to fulfill their promises.

Response from Rocket Languages: Hi Clare - I am sorry about the miscommunication here. If the wrong course is bought, or even if a Level is too easy or hard, then we will swap it for no cost. I am not sure what happened with our emails to you, please check your junk folder. In the meantime a refund has been issued!
I didn't like the program. It's mostly translating into English. I spent more time listening to the dialogue in English than Italian. Even the Italian girl speaks more English than Italian. A waste of time and money

Response from Rocket Languages: Hi Cecilia - Thanks for your feedback. There is a fair amount of English in the first lessons as the Italian usage needs to be explained. As you progress to higher levels there is less English, and in fact the Rocket Italian Travelogues are very conversational with the audio available in 100% Italian.
what is this language learning program. it is terrible. im saying the right things but it thinks im wrong.

Response from Rocket Languages: Hi Ivan - It's likely that your microphone hasn't been set up correctly, as we have had no other reported issues of the voice recognition not working. I would recommend checking out our FAQs and/or contacting customer support with details of your system.
This started well, but the App was changes and now the microphone does not give any time to respond. Despite repeated requests to rectify the problem, nothing has changed. I am now forced to request my money back as the product is NOT fit for purpose.
Spend less time on trying to sell you products and more time on making them work!
