- Japanese Level 1 -
Overall, as someone who struggles to organise myself this course is perfect for me as the modules are very well structured and cover most aspects - listening, vocabulary, writing, grammar. I didn't purchase the course full price as there were discounts, making it even more worth it for the price especially as it is a lifetime subscription!
The classes are easy to follow and progressive, repetitions of vocabulary or grammar are very well incorporated in lessions so it's not annoying and it helps memorize better the information. The flashcards and other tools are also very helpful to complete the learning.
There are a few things I think can be improved though, like the application as it doesn't have some features that the browser version has (especially the saved vocabulary flash cards, which I personnally think are more useful on the go to revise). In the audio lessons, the dialogue transcript is in romanji which I think is good to start but it would be nice to have an option to change it to hiragana/kanji to get more used to it, or to slowly progressively get rid of the romanji as the lessons go on.

The Chinese characters are written in a font size that is easy to read. The voice recognition needs some work. I really like that this course is so interactive.

I used Rocket Italian for several years and the used several other language apps, however, none were as complete as Rocker Italian. Also, with the recent changes to the Rocker Italian format, I feel more comfortable knowing that it is using the CEFR format.

It was nice. But when i buy the rocket chinese pack they keep asking me to buy more packs and keep giving me discounts nonono.

This app is like building Noah's Ark. It's hard at first, but eventually the work bears fruit. This forces you to practice everything that is studying the language. Speaking, writing, reading comprehension, naturally connecting associations.

While language learning can seem challenging in the beginning, for those willing to put in the time and energy, the payoff is really exciting and allows you to connect with people and cultures you never would have experienced otherwise. The course is so helpful, I've been studying with it for 18 days at the time of writing this review and It's probably the first time I managed to learn +10 words a day consistently ever since I started learning German 9 months ago. Do I recommend the course? Yes 100% because it saves you time and energy that would otherwise be wasted on looking for resources or relying on unorganized studying. two things I wasn't a big fan of about this course are 1:there is a considerate amount of typos I have noticed in the audio lesson subtitles like how they kept writing "ausserdem" instead of "außerdem" in the lesson called "renting an apartment". and 2: sometimes they don't explain enough during the lesson which can leave the student confused and asking the question "why is it this way?" but my advice is to ask chat gpt for more clarification about what you may struggle to understand during the audio lessons, the language and culture lessons are also very effective in teaching grammar as well as new vocabulary and expanding general knowledge, customer service is amazing. Thank you Rocket Languages for making German learning easier.
