ciao Myke,
it's the same thing.
Depending on the person and the place you go.

I was recently in Italy, and i found that used "per favore" in a direct request for an object, and 'per piacere' in an expression of gratitude for a service. It just seemed to make sense. Whenever I met someone new, I also always said, "Piacere" with feeling, just as a form of politeness that is certainly lacking in our North American culture.

Ciao Kathleen,
it really depends where you go in Italy.
In same area the expression "per piacere" is not used at all.
I hope you enjoyed Italy!

I think are all the same, "per piacere, per favore, per gentilezza.".And also depend where you are using it, to write a formal request for example, maybe I d`like to use "per gentilezza"...

ciao Zucca,
"per gentilezza" is not correct.
You can say "grazie per la tua gentilezza" which means "thank you for your kindness".
I hope this helps.
Ciao
