Adobe Files - no audio

I see that others have had similar experience. I have downloaded the transcipts and other Adobe files but the audio is not working. I don't even get a indication that the link is active. I have followed one suggestion and installed winamp and have the latest Adobe viwer but still no luck. I realise that producing such documents for so many different types of PC can cause this to happen especially with different types of software such as Vista, Linux and the variations. Any suggestions are welcome.

Yeah, it is slightly annoying, isn't it. However all is not lost and you are not dead in the water if you downloaded the files and the audio files came with PDF files. You can still get by albeit crudely. I have the program installed on my "c" drive which is the default for Windows, and the audio files, in this case the first lesson, can be found at the following link: C:\Program Files\Rocket French\PDFs\Audio\Learning Companion. Inside the Learning Companion folder are all the individual audio files for the section, keyed by section to the numbered topic. Each section has it's own audio folder If you double click on the individual audio files they should wake up your default player, ie.,Windows Media Player and you should have audio. You will have to click each word/phrase individually. I open two windows side by side, text in one and audio in the other then just go down the line. The moderator glosses these problems over in a tactful way, but the Customer service folks acknowledge problems. Good luck.

Many Thanks for your help. I have got it sorted now. If you do a download of individual files (grammar & games individual files area) I found the audio doesn't work (well for me at least) but if you download the large executable file with all the files inside that works fine. I must just say that the adobe type files with the audio working is really, really good. Some people like me work on a visual memory basis in that I mentally visualise during the mental language process whilst other have the ability to memorise using their mental audio facilities. This course seems to cater for all types which is excellent but I think you really need to put in the daily effort to learn

Hi. Glad you had success. I downloaded the executable as well, and most things worked well, but some are stubborn. I tried to do some of the verbs and I think it was lesson 31 where I tried everything I could think of from reinstalling to downloading the audio program to turning around three times and finally had to resort to the method I detailed before to get audio.

I just purchased Rocket French and after reading this decided to download the large executable file. The only problem is, once I click on the link I am taken to a page that says _"To download the Interactive Audio lessons to your computer, please click the respective "Download this file" link."_ The problem is, the link to download never appears. I don't know what to do. Has this happened to anyone else? Shirley

 Nevermind. I should have read this thread closer. I thought it was referring to the lessons but after re-reading I see it was referring only to the games. Guess I was just a little too anxious to get started. (blush)

Is any body else having problems with the Rocket Record function. It used to work and now it doesn't? When I click on the buuton to opend Adobe Flash to use he Rocket Record function nothing happens? I have updated my computer, uninstalled and re-installed , but still it does not work. I have tried using Adobe Flash in another program on the same computer. It works in the other program, but still it does not work in Rocket French. If anybody else has experienced this problem, and managed to get it to work, please could you let me know the fix? I did already contact the customer support team by using the "contact us" link, but did not get a fix.

Hi, I got the fix now from the customer support team. I was using Internet Explorer in compatibility mode. With compatibilty mode switched off everything is working. Thank you to the customer support team. I hope anybody else that has the same problem checks the status of compatibility mode in internet explorer. Once again - a big thank you to the customer support team for what was a very frustrating problem!
