Salut you all
I've had Rocket French for a while and I'm annoyed at how SLOWLY it's been going! I'm only on lesson 6.....
I'm wondering:
1) Do I HAVE to know every single word by heart before I continue to the next lesson? I get bored easily and then I start giving up. Did you all do that or just skip ahead?
2) I've got a complaint. Rocket French isn't that good for plain day to day speech. I'm not actually planning to travel to France in the near future and if I did I have a ton of people I could stay at so a lot of the lessons are not relevant. I got rocket french cause I love the language but I'm wondering if I'll ever be able to speak it...
J'ai besoin d'aid!!!
c'est tres *fustrating*

I'm frustraded too... I prefer and suggest you do the same: hear the lessons in your car, bus etc. places where you usually do "nothing", BUT, besides my interest on doing this it's impossible to download the sound files, each time I try I'm disconected by the Rocket French site before the end of the process, even the flashcard or the software I didn't download... I've tried with Getright according the Rocket suggestion on its Help and with the Getright I received a message that the Rocket site doesn't allow resuming files!!! What a good Help... And I bougth the "downloadable" Rocket French Premium. But I sent a message to Rocket this weekend and I hope they can do better.

Salut,
I'm sorry to hear that you find your learning experience frustrating.
Even though it's a good idea to make sure that you remember the content of the previous lessons it is not absolutely essential.
As long as you can pick up what is being said in a conversation and it makes sense to you then it's fine.
It's more about getting the message across than knowing every word by heart.
Have you tried the Bonus lessons? They are slightly different and perhaps more your style?
The later lessons focus more on socializing and family time rather than traveling.
I hope you will find that it gets easier with time.
Why not try one of the later lessons and see how you get on with them?
In reply to Marco Ferro. Could you please let me know whether you use a Mac or PC and what your operating system is? I'm sorry to hear that the download causes so much frustration. I'm sure we can work something out, please get back to me.
Merci
Claire

Hi Claire... Thanks by your interest and there is no more frustation concerning my download problem. Finally everything is going OK, and probably my download tranfers' taxes were the problem. I'm ready to explore the beauty of this language. A bianto.
