Bonjour Philip!
If we literally translate this phrase we get "me tente bien" - "to me tempts well" but is translated as "is very tempting (to me)" simply because it is more comfortable in English to say the latter. Also, in French we are more likely to use a verb to say that something is tempting (to sb.) than arbitrarily saying that something is tempting, as we do in English.

Thanks Marie-Claire.
When i'm learning French i try to think as a French person would think and construct sentences accordingley.
So when i see the the English translations i sometimes get very confused. Do you think that i'm approaching learning the language the wrong way.
Cheers Phil

Bonjour Philip!
Not at all, I think you are approaching the learning of the language in exactly the right way. Although, everybody learns languages differently and finds different methods easier than others, but the more you can approach the language in a "French mindset" the quicker you will be able to gain an ear for the language.
Courage!

Bonjour Mary,
J'habite actuellement en Nouvelle-Zélande et je suis contente de t'avoir rencontré.
Bonjour Taneisa,
"En la mettant" means "when/in putting it on". "Mettant" is the present progressive or gerund of the verb "mettre", to put on. In front of the gerund we usually add the preposition "en" so that is why we find that in the sentence. "La" is simply the direct object pronoun which just replaces the word "veste" and is used so that we dont have to repeat the word.
