Speed and frequency?

Hello, I recently purchased my copy of Rocket French; I'm a student in University (Moved from South Africa to the great country of USA). I know this is a silly question and is different for each person, but how many lessons is a good amount to complete each week... lets say I set aside 3 days a week that I will do french 1-2 hours each time. One lessons? Two lessons? The college mentality has made me thing STUDY and cram rather than fully learn; something that I am scared about getting started with this french course as I want to be able to remember it well on my 2 month trip to France in the upcoming summer break with my already fluent, Colombian friend. Much Appreciated.

Hi there, Thanks for your post! Definitely not a silly question! I always recommend to spend most of your time on listening to the Interactive Audio Course. Listen to a lesson once, and then listen to it again a day later to see how much you can remember. Once you feel comfortable move on to the next lesson. Being able to speak French is so much fun and you will see that the language and culture lessons will seem much easier once you have an understanding of how to speak basic French. After doing the first 3 lessons start reading through the Language and Culture lessons and do the exercises. It pays to play one of the MegaGames (save MegaVerbs for when you are through most of the language lessons) 2-3 times a week. These games will teach you many new words and expressions in a fun way. If you want to get in touch with other Rocket French members to exchange your experiences please join our "French Forum". There is a link to the forum in the members area. On average, it takes about 3 months to complete one level of the course if you're studying diligently. I hope this helps! All the best for your French learning! :D
