Why the pronoun "en" in "tu n'en as pas dormi?"

Personally, I would translate «Tu n'en as pas dormi ?» more specifically as "You didn't sleep any/at all?" because en is being used in a partitive sense: the person didn't sleep during any part of it (with it being the night or uncountable sleep period).
