The only difference is that Hotel is an English word and Albergo is the Italian equivalent.
In Italy both of them are commonly used, sometimes the pronounciation of the English , Hotel , is not quite correct because we forget to read the first letter,H. H has no sound in Italian, so you 'll hear people say: Otel!
Va bene?
Ciao!
ps.The plural of Albergo is Alberghi
(an H is added to keep the sound of the hard G,
the word Hotel is often not pluralized!)
