I'm trying to get better at adding "problem" words (ones that just don't seem to register quickly enough) to My Vocab. Once in a while, I then go to My Vocab and "test" myself (kind of a manual "Hear It Say It" or "Know It") by covering up the column of English meanings to see how many I can recall. I then cover up the Italian and do the reverse. If I feel the word is now indelibly burned into my brain, I remove it from the list.
Has anyone else used My Vocab this way? Do you have other ways you use it to improve your Italian?
I'm hoping that the crack Rocket Languages development team will at some point add a "flash card" sort of tool associated with My Vocab to "automate" the process that I've described above. In the meantime, I'll continue to use it "manually" to help me get those problem words better ingrained.
How Do YOU Use My Vocab?

Hi T Henry
Thanks for mentioning your method of using and practicing your vocab. I think I too will try how you do it.
I also agree with your wish for a "flash card" tool. That would be another great tool in the learning process.

Ciao T_Henry
There is a mega vocab creator in 'mega Italian games' where you can add your own words. Would that be of some help

I'm not seeing the mega vocab creator. I'm assuming the 'mega Italian games' you are referring to is within the Rocket Italian web site; is this correct? All I see for the flash cards (beginner or advanced) are the "canned" words and phrases. Could you provide the explicit URL for the web page that displays the mega vocab creator?
Thanks.

Ciao again T_Henry,
When I first signed up with Rocket Italian, I also had the option for free to download Mega Italian.
The Mega Italian contains, Mega Vocab, Audio, and Verbs. So if you have access to this you will find what you are looking for.
Close to the very top are 4 tabs. The first tab is Welcome. The next tab is MegaVocab. Click on the MegaVocab tab. You should now see 2 new tabs. MegaVocab and MegaVocab Creator. Click on the MV Creator tab. This is where you can now add your own vocab words.
Good luck

Ciao Donald O,
Thanks for the info. I don't remember this option when I got started with Rocket Italian a couple months ago. I'll look back at the old correspondence. Also, maybe the Rocket Italian support staff will see these postings and will post some guidance to get me on the right track.
Grazie mille.

Ciao T_Henry
Here is some additional info. If you look at the top of the main page, you will see several tabs. Rocket Italian Free Course, Rocket Italian Premium etc.
Directly below those tabs are more tabs. Look for Games and click on that one. A drop down window will appear. Click on MegaItalian Games. Now choose PC or Mac and download.
Hope this helps.

Hi everybody,
I'm sorry for my late reply but the post hasn't appear on my screen before today.
Henry, once you access your Rocket Italian Premium Course you should be able to see a tab on the top of the screen which says:
Interactive Audio - Language and Culture - Games - Survival Kit
If you click on the Games link, you should be able to see a drop down list with :
MegaCard Beginners
MegaCards Advance
MegaItalian Games
Phrase Master
Word Master
Please check if you are able to find it.
Let me if you can't see it as I'll forward your message to our team.
Ciao

I have never thought of using the My Vocab tool that way, but it does seem like it would really help out a lot! Thanks for your suggestion!!
