In Rocket Italian Premium Plus lesson 8.9, the following itlaian sentences and translations are given - è meglio se prende l'autobus. It's better to take the bus.
and Qual'è la strada migliore per ...? What's the best way to ..?
therefore indicating that meglio means better and migliore means best BUT in Lesson 3.4 Comparing things the translation given is as follows - miglore = better.
So which is right?

One uses migliore before or after a noun. In other words, migliore is used as an adjective. In the example stated above, "strada" (lit. street) is what is being described.
Meglio is used as an adverb. In the example stated above, "prendersi" is the verb being described.

Best- superative of good. (il) migliore
e.g.,
Sì, è il mio migliore amico.
Yes, he's my best friend.
La cosa migliore
The best thing
Meglio is a comparative of Bene. better.
e.g., Meglio tardi che mai
Better late than never

this is a very common question.
"Migliore" is an adjective which can precede or follow the noun.
It's the equal of "best" or 'better" in English.
(comparative of well: to a higher degree or quality)
Example:
Tu sei il mio migliore amico = you are my best friend.
Questo dolce e' migliore di quello di Sara= this cake is better than Sara's one.
" Meglio" is an adverb.
Example:
Tu dipingi meglio di me = you paint better than me .
(literally it means "in a better way")
