Can anyone tell me the difference between “rive” in lesson 4.3 and the word fiume. Does it make a difference which one you use?
rive vs fiume

Hi Sebongala. Not sure if this is correct but it is my understanding you use river for the river banks and fiume for the river itself.

Hi Gary
Thanks for the clarification. I see you started Italian more or less at the same time as I did. How are you progressing? Find I keep on going over the same lessons for revision. Am on level 5, but keep on going back to the extra grammar lessons as find those tricky and am trying to do extra grammar and general Italian from books, for more practice and better explanations

Hi Sebongala, my progress is the same as you, i am on module 5.3. I wish I had taken longer early on and really got to grips with the grammar. Once you feel confident with the grammar it helps with the overall course. I tend to done a couple of modules and then go back to the beginning to reinforce my learning, otherwise I quickly forget!! I am really enjoying the course, especially during these difficult times and it is helping with my memory retention (as I am in my 60's)
Hope you continue to develop your Italian skills.

thank you for bringing this up!
As Gary correctly stated, 'rive' refers to 'river banks' while 'fiume' refers to the actual 'river'.
Happy learning :)
