Romaji in audio lesson texts

Hi,

I've just started the Japanese course, but I do have some prior knowledge. Both through the first Genki book (though I've been slacking there) and the owl app. (In fact, the constant “AI” push in the owl app and its CEO talking about doubling down on the “AI" crap is what made me unsubscribe from there and take the plunge into Rocket Japanese.)

I've already weaned myself off of romaji; I'm comfortable with kana and the kanji that I do know. So I've switched off romaji in the settings, works, fine. But it still shows up in the text transcripts of the audio lessons. Is there a way to switch those to “proper” Japanese instead of romaji? I feel like seeing romaji there constantly is a step back, a regression, for me.

Cheers,

Sven

Hi Sven,

It's great to have you learning Japanese with us!

Unfortunately, there is currently no way to swap the audio transcripts from Romaji. I apologize for any impact this may have on your learning. The good news is that our team is aware of the demand for the option to see the non-Latin version, not only for Japanese but across the script languages we offer. We are in the early stages of exploring the possibility of implementing a solution for this issue.

If you have any further suggestions or feedback, please feel free to reach out to our support team.

All the best with your Japanese language learning!
