もちろん。。。

Module 1.3 At the Sushi Bar introduced the phrase 「もちろん です」. Presumably this is the politest way to say "of course". However, while watching a show today I heard a character say,「 もちろんさ」.  It does not change the meaning, but can anyone tell me what type of "ending" 「さ」is?

Hi there!

「さ」is more a colloquial expression that people can use at the end of their sentence for more emphasis. In the 「もちろんさ」context, it'll most likely translate to "Of course it'll be fine", or something to that effect.

I hope that helps!

That makes sense.  I'll be listening to see if I can hear it, too, on TV Japan.  Thanks for a bit of interesting knowledge.
