Can someone please tell me the difference between "shitte imasu" and "shite imasu"?
shitte imasu vs. shite imasu.

shitte is the "te" form of the verb shiru (=to know).
shite is the "te" form of the verb suru (=to do).
=> shitte imasu = I know (polite), shite imasu = I do/I am doing (polite)

Just to add to コッドさん's answers, written in Japanese they look like this:
知（し）る,"shiru", to know
する,"suru", to do
知ってる and する are "te" form of those two different verbs.
