I decided to start putting sentences together myself, after learning a few lessons, and I was hoping that I was putting them together correctly...so does this make sense? I am eating : Tabete wa shitte I like to drink : o nomi wa suki des ...the first one looks wrong, as for the 2nd one, i know to drink is nomu, but i wasn't sure how to change the stem. Thanks

I also (watashi mo) have a 'does this make sense' question... Regarding lesson 3.1 [Mt.Fuji] When Sayaka-san asks : "Are we going up by car, or are we walking up?" Would it make sense if she had said : "__Ashi de nobori maska?__" Trying to say : "By foot/leg climbing/going up are [we]?" Translation : "Are we going up on foot?" Make Sense?

Konnichiwa! *Tabete imasu* _I am eating_ *Nonde imasu* _I am drinking_ *Nomu no ga suki desu* _I like to drink_ *Taberu no ga suki desu* _I like to eat_  When expressing an action taking place NOW, you add the verb IRU or IMASU (formal version) to the action you're doing in the TE-form. IRU is a common verb suffix that has the function of making the verb present progressive, just like the English -ING.

it is good to know i got the i am eating part correct! shows that I'm really learning from the program! thanks!! as for liking to drink, it confuses me because I'm still unclear about the differences in ga and wa..will i learn in further lessons? i am just about to start lesson 2.2 :] i'm new to the "no". I understand it means "of" in the last lesson, so why would it be put in the sentence i like to drink:?:
