こんにちは (Konnichiwa) Heru-,
Thank you for your question!
The word じゅう (jū) means “ten," so the じゅう (jū) in にひゃくごじゅう (nihyakugojū) refers to the number “ten."
Japanese uses a number stacking system where numbers are combined to create larger numbers.
For example, ご (go) means "five” and じゅう (jū) means “ten." When we combine those together, we get ごじゅう (gojū) “fifty” - literally, “five tens.”
Here's another example: さん (san) means “three"; when we combine さん (san) “three” and じゅう (jū) “ten” we get さんじゅう (sanjū) “thirty” - literally, “three tens."
In the number にひゃくごじゅう (nihyakugojū) we have:
に (ni) = “two”
ひゃく (hyaku) = “hundred”
ご (go) = “five”
じゅう (jū) = “ten”
When we combine that all together, we get “250” - literally, “two hundreds five tens.”

I hope this helped!
