Konnichiwa o genki des ka In the japanese audio course I notice that when you want to say "its time for karaoke" you say: "ima kara karaoke jikan des yo" But when your saying "one hour" you say: inchi jikan. Is jikan both time and hour?

Konnichiwa!! The usages of JIKAN... By itself: *JIKAN* means _TIME_ When *JIKAN* is tacked onto a numeral value, it specifies _HOURS_. In such case, the *JI* refers to the English "_O'clock"_. So, *~JIKAN* is counter for _~HOURS_ *Ichi-jikan* - _One hour_ and *~JI *is counter for _~O'CLOCK_ *Ichi-ji *- _One o'clock_ :D
