Introducing Favorites: Your New Way to Master Vocabulary!

Bonjour tout le monde! Hello everyone!

Get ready to supercharge your language learning! We're thrilled to announce a brand-new feature that lets you "favorite" words and phrases. Simply click the heart icon, and presto! That word or phrase is saved directly to your personal Favorites section.

But wait, there's more! If you favorite a word or phrase while you're in an activity, you'll be able to test yourself on it within that very same activity. It's a fantastic way to zero in on what you need to practice most.

Currently, this exciting feature is available on desktop, and we're working hard to bring it to our Android and iOS apps in the next few months.

A Quick Note on Saved Vocab

You might notice that the new Favorites system is replacing our "Saved Vocab" feature. We're retiring Saved Vocab because it wasn't compatible with our mobile apps. Favorites, on the other hand, is designed to work seamlessly across all your devices, once the mobile update rolls out! Contact us for more information if you want to migrate your Saved Vocab data.

Enhanced Benchmark Test

That's not all the news we have for you! We've also given our Benchmark Test a significant upgrade. It's now more intuitive and provides a much clearer indication of your language abilities. You can find the updated Benchmark Test under the Tools tab.

Just like Favorites, the new Benchmark Test will be making its way to the Android and iOS apps at the same time.

We're constantly working to improve your language learning experience. Give the new Favorites feature a try and let us know what you think!

Hi Jason,

I just noticed the new favorites feature, and I really like it. Something like this was very much needed. I was really surprised when I saw it, I truly believe that as a language learner this is a tool that I will end up using a lot.

Thanks!

Hi Zirik,

I am glad you like it so far! Keep us posted on how it goes longer term!

Hi Jason

I understand that switching to this system entails losing existing saved vocab?  I did 4.5 years of Rocket Italian and now 11 months of Rocket French (still by. far the best language learning tool by miles, but folk here know that already…!).  As attractive as the new system is, I told support that I'd like to stick to the existing system.  Your company epitomises the Japanese business concept of "Kaizen" (continuous improvement).

À bientôt

Chris

Hi Chris,

Thanks for your comments. You are correct, switching to the “Favorite's” system does mean that any “Saved Vocab” will be archived (not deleted). If members, like yourself, really want their “Saved Vocab” then we have the power to change people back!

The rationale behind the change is to have a system that works on desktop computers and the mobile apps (the way the old “Saved Vocab” system worked meant that it couldn't work on the mobile apps).

The new favorites feature is a great idea. Unfortunately I can't find where my personal favorites are saved. I'm using the desktop version and I've looked in the Tools section, the Dashboard, and in my Profile. I've also tried different browsers. Can someone help?

Hi Peter,

It's visible below the tools button in the side bar. Don’t go into tools, it's visible below the tools.

Hi Zirik

Sorry, I can't see it at all. Tools is the last item in the side bar.

Is there a setting I need to change to switch from the old Vocabulary system?

Thanks for your help

Hi Peter,

I will look into this for you. It may be that you have recently added entries into your “Vocabulary”, which means that we wouldn't have switched you to the “Favorite's” system. Either way, if you did want to switch to the “Favorite's” system then just email customer support and they will sort that for you.

UPDATE: I have switched you to the “Favorite's” system. Enjoy!

Thanks Jason, it's all working now.

This will be a great feature for me - much appreciated!
