Look, I understand that the French speak fast, but, you can't slow it down for people who are new to the language and are trying to learn? Let us understand the correct pronunciation and then we can increase the speed. I had to go to another source to grasp the correct pronunciation. Because of this, I strongly discourage anyone new to the French language from wasting their time on Rocket Languages.

Response from Rocket Languages: Hi there - The pronunciation in all of our Level 1 courses IS slower than native speakers. It can take some time to adjust to the rhythm of a new language so don't be disheartened if it is difficult to understand at first. Listening to a radio/podcast in the language is a good idea to speed up this process.
So much potential….but the play buttons in the app work sporadically. Records just fine and voice recognition is great. But I Have to reboot my iPad Air quite often to clear the issue. Note that The coin is flipped on the web site - which I tried hoping to address the play buttons in the app not working. Well - the play buttons work fine on the web site - but the voice record says “having trouble” on every single item. And I am, per the instructions, using safari and the red microphone is on (not crossed out or greyed out). As such - this tool can’t really be used. Will try tomorrow - maybe a server issue. Ready to request full refund if issue(s) persist. Exasperating experience. May resort to old fashioned Pimsleur CDs to prepare for vacation to france in a few months.

I enjoy the course work and information so far. The voice voice recognition sucks. Had a French speaking friend speak as a test and she had the same experience. If this program tells a woman from Montreal that she's wrong or can't register her speech, then it just frustrates the learner and makes for a bad design.

The grading system is all over the place. They have a colour coded system that is meant to reflect proficiency but it patently doesn't correspond with any of the lessons. I completed all the modules available, everything was correct but the colour coded system gave me 1 green tick and 4 yellow symbols. It makes no sense.
I asked for an explanation for this but the response made little sense too.
I think somewhere in the Rocket system is a great app waiting to break out but it is currently too cumbersome which is a pity.
They ask users to write something awesome, they are assuming people think the app is awesome when it isn't yet.

It is WAY to expensive for what it is! Not worth it.

We believe that our courses offer the best "bang for buck" because you will actually learn and be able to use the language, rather than just pick up a few phrases here and there, right from the start. Rocket French teaches you 1000s of practical words and phrases, as well as the grammar rules that help you put it all together. The course gives you lots of opportunity to practice what you have learned, and really build your French speaking confidence. Plus, the courses come with lifetime access to the lessons, and so they very quickly become far more cost effective than other methods of learning, such as group classes or private tuition. I have been studying French for the past 2 years. I always had difficulty with speaking the language. Rocket French has helped very much with my confidence in speaking the language. Rocket French has proven to be a fun way to improve my French language skills
I decided not to pursue learning French after paying for the course the week after I purchased it as I wanted to change to the Italian course instead. I asked for a refund twice through the help section and have still not received a refund or acknowledgment that I have asked for a refund. This is a real shame as I was going to purchase the Italian course once I got the refund now I don't trust Rocket Languges to fulfill their promises.

I was very satisfied with Rocket French Intermediate, so I purchased the Travelogue. Unfortunately, the Travelogue was highly disappointing. It is of very limited value as a language learning tool, and its interest as a cultural document was modest at best. I can't imagine wanting to go through it more than once. Additionally, it is poorly recorded or edited, with the French dialogue for some reason sounding muffled. After a good initial experience with Rocket French, this course has soured me on the program.

Response from Rocket Languages: Hi Bruce - I am sorry to hear your feedback. We have though just added in full French translations for every part of the Travelogues, as well as full recordings of the Travelogue scripts, so they now work very much like the Interactive Audio lessons from Levels 1-3.
I am finding the program difficult to use. I cannot access the written or quiz sections. It is also a problem trying to access the subsequent module. I wish I had purchased only Level 1. The opportunity to listen and have my pronunciation corrected is appreciated but I would like to be able to access the rest of the module segments.
