This is probably the best experience I have had with being able to learn at my own pace and feel engaged in learning. I tend to be prone to distractions and have spent a lot of time and energy on language learning that has left me unsatisfied because it didn't have all the options and approaches that this program has given me. I appreciate how thoroughly each lesson is designed to really commit the information to memory. I struggle a lot with my attention span but this is giving me my best chance at achieving my goal of learning another language fluently. So I really want to thank everyone involved and try to make the best of it. I would recommend this method to anyone else who is interested in at home in depth learning. Maybe a little on the pricey side but at this point I have spent a lot on much less effective methods enough to know this is well worth the investment for me. After I am satisfied with Korean I would like to move on to another language as well.
i was so surprised that i was able to understand little korean within a short period of time. this is a really immersive program. well recommended for beginners. i was surprised of what was i able to understand within a month.
I love the mixture of easy and more difficult Korean i nthe testing sections. I also like how the different levels of the language are explained and integrated into each conversation. It's sometimes tough to get through every level in a day, but I'm motivated to keep going.
first time using it was a lot of fun learning new words I don't know but it is amazing .
This app and the website are fantastic. The speech recognition is really accurate -- and as Kelly says, "You have to practice the words aloud, not just in your head!"
This is a very powerful learning tool which allows you to pace your learning. Difficult parts can be repeated easily and it allows you to focus on phrases to practice during time when you are not using the software.
I'm just beginning and already have learned a bit. I am impressed! I am looking forward to immersing myself into the lessons and truly learning the language. I do believe I will get what I came for here!
So far just starting out I’m really enjoying the course, it’s going through conversational pieces and allowing for recording and verification when you talk is awesome and I really love that because it makes me pronounce things correctly and it gets me talking OUTLOUD which is great and I think key. I’m going to start on the writing modules soon because I want to get hanguel down so I can try and take the romanization piece out! So far I love it!
The course structure enables learner to advance at his or her own pace. Sometimes the sentences are too long and the pronunciation too difficult to hear - even though my hearing is excellent. When I do these activities in Rocket Korean and upon listening to Pimsleur Korean in my car, I find that the Korean sound system to be more challenging than the sound system in most other languages. Perhaps being able to hear sounds at a slower pace would benefit me until I know more about how to enunciate the sounds as a Korean speaker does.
While I use the Chrome browser as directed, I must say - "All that glitters is not chrome!" Sometimes the system slows down and requires that I log out and log back on. This is a technical issue more with Chrome than with Rocket Korean.
Just starting out. Some problems. Recorded words and phrases not always clear and can't slow them down to hear certain nuances usually having to do with consonants. The hangeul lists the Names of the characters and has recorded pronunciation, but the pronunciation of the character as it is used is only listed in English with no guide as to pronunciation. for instances whether the 'g' sound is a soft g as in 'gentle' or a hard 'g' as in guest. My native speaking Korean frined has criticized the overall recorded pronunciations as a little less than realistic.
