overall it's an excellent product with a wide range of tools to encourage you to learn and practice. I particularly like the constant opportunities to speak and repeat which for me is the only way to properly learn and remember. Also there is a nice expansion into useful variations of the language around the key lesson components in each lesson which get progressively more comprehensive and challenging. I am making real progress.
It helps me to learn French!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I found you on the net. I am happy to find a way to learn FRENCH.
I need more practice to grasp it.
I know how to speak English and it is time to learn French.
I am serious in my will
If you need to teach Spanish to your darlings, I have a recommendation for you: Rocket Spanish. They also offer Arabic, Korean, Chinese, Russian and a few other languages.
Someone recommended it to me and I am in the middle of their 6 day free, no obligation trial. So far I really really like it.
I like the way they systematically teach grammar and usage and emphasized speaking/hearing. They say "they take the sentence apart and put it back together again".
They have quizzes, vocab, etc in each lesson. You print a pdf for each lesson with vocab and explanation. Conversation and culture is built in daily. It's very user friendly. I personally wouldn't have my kids do it on their own since I want to learn what they are learning, speak with them, etc. Memories, right? But at least I don't have to know what I'm doing. I'll just follow their lead. I like that!
Cost is $249 for 3 levels through the trial promotional price (I personally think this covers 2 years of high school Spanish) . $99 for level 1.
There are approx 190 total lessons in all 3 levels. They start past and future tenses in level 2. (level 1 has 55 lessons, level 2 has 65 lessons, level 3 has 67 lessons). Abeka started past and future in year 2.
I am learning so well with Rocket! I had taken immersion classes, where the teacher would not speak any English. That was very difficult for me. What I like about Rocket is that you have many ways to learn, so undoubtedly, you will find the way that you learn best with all the options you have! It also has a culture section, which helps you with travel and it's such a more well rounded education than most programs I've seen. It's private, so you don't have the embarrassment, and you hear the words and how they sound, so you can practice before you try them in public. What a bargain! You get so much for less!
As a new user of Rocket Languages - German online course, I am pretty excited and looking forward to learn a new language. My target is to learn it very fast so that I can start speaking to my German friends. What I like about the course is its structure, content, possibility to tag information (so that I can review later), update notes on a chapter, tests at the end of each module.
I would like to keep the momentum high in learning German language and will come back soon with additional hints & reviews. I would have no hesitation to recommend Rocket Languages to my friends & family
I bought the French and Spanish lessons and loved them both. It's fun to learn while you are listening to people with personalities telling various stories that weave through all the lessons. I listen to them on my iPad as I drive to work, and this was really convenient.
I like that so much of the exercises use audio. Too many language teachers end up teaching how to read a language, but put very little emphasis on speaking and comprehension. I also really like the dictation exercises, mostly because they give me practice in comprehension of spoken Spanish.
For me being able to take the whole course with me on my travels on my mobile devices without having to carry books and cd's is a real godsend. The course structure really works I find that from the start I can understand how the language works thanks to the simple explanations and being ably to click on a phrase to repeat helps a lot in me getting the pronunciation good.
This is the most comprehensive language learning aid. Easy to access anywhere. I'm learning how the language is spoken, how to write and read the characters, and the lessons are entertaining and engaging. The only other resource I use to complement the lessons is the Arch Chinese website to help dig deep into the details of each character.
I chose Rocket French after trying various other systems to improve my French language. It is a much more efficient and enjoyable experience and I am content with the outcomes. A great advantage for me is that there are no time limitations to complete the course. This gives me the ability to study at my own pace and repeat any lessons, or all of them, if I need to do so. Additionally, writing, speaking and listening as part of each lesson, maximises my learning experience and the quiz provides the means of testing how I have performed
