I have been thoroughly impressed with Rocket Language. The best part is that it teaches you how to have real conversations instead of just learning lists of words and conjugations. I have already advanced to the higher level and my proficiency has improved dramatically. I have gone back and listened to lessons that I struggled with in the past, and now, they seem so easy. Rocket Language has been the best source for learning Spanish, more than anything else I have ever tried.
I started out as a beginner French speaker, unable to communicate or understand the French language even at a basic level. However, 9 months later after completing the first three levels of the Rocket French course, I can confidently say that I am at an intermediate level of French. I was hoping to become fluent in the end, but I've learned that even the best French courses probably won't get you there. Learning another language is so much more than sitting in front of a computer, but this course really pushed me out of my comfort zone. At times I felt discouraged and didn't think what I was learning was valuable, but looking back and seeing just how far I've come, it was definitely worth the investment. This course offers so much variety, includes tremendous explanations and stimulates your brain by always being one step ahead of you. I would recommend this course because of it's price, it's structure, and the fact that it takes you from not being able to pronounce a single word in the language, to intermediate communication and comprehension. While Rocket French gives you all the tools you need to succeed, the results will depend on how much effort you are willing to put in while completing the course, and afterwards.
Learning spanish has been made really easy for me with the help of rocket spanish. I used to think i would have to go to a spanish school to learn the language but when i came across rocket spanish, it changed my ideology completely.
Gracias mucha guys.
I enjoy the product, although I haven't been able to complete as many lessons as I would like. The fact that you can access it without an expiration date makes it much more valuable to me since I will be using it over the years and they do provide updates to the material from time to time so that you can come back to an improved product.
I always thought that learning the language would be difficult but Rocket Korean has made it easy to speak, write and understand Korean. Now i can watch my favorite Korean series without subtitles and understand k-pop songs!!!
I love Rocket Language. I am learning russian, and find this method very helpful and at the same time very easy and fun to use.
I recommend this method to learn russian. I think then I will learn italian.
I am now working on the 3rd module of the Hindi course, so I've tested the programme a fair bit. Hindi must be about the 20th language I study, so I have some idea of what learning a language is about.
While I enjoy the app, the format, the light-heartedness of the dialogues and voice actors, I am frustrated by a number of things.
First of all, there are too many typos for a language course. As a learner, I shouldn't be left wondering what's going on, only to realize later that it was a typo. There are too many weird things happening, like odd or irregular translations, plurals instead of singulars, the female voice actor reading a first-person response in the masculine, etc. All this gets in the way of the otherwise fun topics and voice actors. It adds confusion to an already difficult process.
Second, I disagree with the general principle that the student should just repeat without understanding. I'm fine with putting emphasis on the carelessness of "just repeat and you'll eventually get it", and it does remove pressure from the student to perform, but there are grammatical questions that need to be explained (even with some simple additional written material), and to leave it to chance, frankly, just feels lazy.
Quite simply, Rocket works! I’ve tried other major products with previous languages, that weren’t nearly as effective as Rocket, despite them costing a lot. I am learning Italian at a much quicker rate than I expected based on previous experience, and it’s sticking! I like the repetition and reinforcement methodology, supported via multiple tools, including flash cards and voice recognition exercises. I highly recommend Rocket compared to others.
This is a great learning experience. I am only on the first lesson, but I believe it will really help me learn Spanish at a fraction of the cost of other self-teaching lessons. My wife and daughters have learned Spanish in school and be traveling in Mexico and Spain. I am needing to catch up with them. I am seriously considering buying additional courses for my wife in other languages.
I've lived as a US expat in Mexico for more than 2 years, and until now my Spanish has been poor.
1) As a big expat town, it's easy to speak English here and this can slow progress. Ex: (I get in a taxi. Me--"Hola, Señor. Sabes donde esta..." He--"Where you want to go?" (sigh))
2) My first teacher was a 70 year old Mexican woman. Great gal, and I really liked her program. But, by her own admission, some of the later installments were prepared when she'd smoked a bit too much mota. :-/
3) My second teacher was a young Mexican man over iTalki. Very patient, and a great teacher, but his program essentially involved him giving very interesting lectures over Skype and waiting while I wrote nearly everything down. There were no practice materials to go along with it. Nice guy, great teacher--but it's not just that I wasn't learning to speak the language; it was more that I couldn't understand how I EVER would with no drills and practice based upon his lectures. :-/
4) So now I've found Rocket Spanish. After the above experience--and Pimsleur (which I like but consider limited)-- I'm convinced this is precisely the program for me. I get all the practice I want, and the gamification employed has gotten me addicted.
